Price for domain name EggRecall.com

In the world of domain names, many of us who invest in domains wonder how much was paid for a particular name. Valuation for good names can sometimes be easy. Some domain names are sold based on traffic and revenue calculations. However, sometimes it's not so easy.

I was recently asked if I would share the final price paid for the domain name EggRecall.com. Below is what we paid for the name (we almost got scooped). It appeared that the domain name would be ours; but at the very last minute, another person tried to snatch the name. We went into a five-minute extension. I countered, since with the size and scope of the news related to this domain name, we really wanted to add it to our portfolio. My final offer was not countered, and we acquired it for less than our max bid.
