InEarHeadphones.com

Exciting news for domain investors, at least for this one!
Rick Latona has accepted one of our domain names, InEarHeadphones.com into his upcoming auction in Australia on Nov. 20th.

The auction will take place during the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Down Under Conference. In addition to live bidding, those not able to be present will be able to bid via the internet.

Rick accepted the name into the auction with the provision that we would set a no reserve price. So, it will be interesting to see what happens. According to Google's Adsense External Keyword Tool, data for an exact match for the phrase [in ear headphones] shows an average monthly search volume of appx. 9,900 / month, with an estimated CPC of $1.47.

Remember, this is search volume and estimated CPC based on search volume: To get a better idea of the estimated number of clicks, use your AdWords account (if you don't have one, it may be worth setting one up)... I can't share this information as per Google's TOS, but it may be worth checking if you are interested in this topic - the site is definitely NOT a type-in, but is a strong contender for development. In addition, the FREE Keyword tool at WordTracker shows some good search traffic for the term in ear headphones:

a Google shopping search shows some interesting data for the type, and price ranges for these products.

Google news also shows some interesting data for in ear headphones. Given this information, one could build out a good informational site and take advantage of some solid affiliate marketing programs, as well.

In any event, Penguin Search Engine Services, Inc. is excited to be auctioning off our first name. It's time for us to selectively trim the portfolio.

We may even try sending emails to the major manufacturing companies who produce these little gems, to whet their appetite for a significant end-user sale.
