Penguin Search Engine Services

Welcome to Penguin Search Engine Services!

Here, we will look at domain names and domain name sales. It's no secret that registering a domain name for resale in the aftermarket is big business.

However, many domainers (professionals and hobbiests who register these domain names) struggle to determine a fair, accurate sales price for their domains. The issue is how to find the best way to get their portfolio of domains appraised as cheaply and quickly as possible.

There are several opportunities for domainers to make a sale, including online domain auctions, forums, eBay, and live auctions. Some domains in the past few years have garnered tens of thousands, to hundreds of thousands of dollars. But, unless you are willing to pay on a per-domain basis, the task of getting an inexpensive appraisal for your entire domain portfolio is going to be quite difficult.

Stay tuned. Penguin Search Engine Services will be sharing a bit of our expertise gained as we have tracked domain name sales at a few live auctions. We have appraised some of the domains sold in these auctions using free, online domain name appraisal tools.

It's not easy, and it can be quite time consuming, but - for those who are willing to stay the course, you might be able to obtain some idea of relative value of the domain names in your portfolio, if not an appraisal that will be the actual selling price for your domain.
